All the hype about Hymer at the moment points towards the new member of the Hymer family of motorhomes and camper vans, the Hymer Camper van -VW T5.
Named the ‘Cape Town’ this new and exciting addition to the HymerCar range is built on a Volkswagen T5 chassis and is a very definite nod to the rising interest in German motorhomes and hymer campers.
VW Cape Town Features
Visually, the Volkswagen T5 is a variation on the theme of the classic VW van but the design also allows for sleek and modern interior finishes that acknowledge the changing tastes of the motorhome enthusiast.
It also has a set of unique solutions for storage and amenity. Some of the major features are listed below:
- Double bed which lies across cabinet work and allows for access underneath
- A pop-top rising roof so there is walking room when the bed isn’t erected
- new bicycle carrying system
- Compact dimensions
- Individual equipment options
The Cape Town forms part of the existing Hymer Car Range, all of which are built on a Fiat Ducato base, they are:
- The Rio
- The Sydney
- The Yellowstone
- The Serengeti
The new luxury Campervan is coming to the UK next year and left hand drive models are available now with some orders already being taken. Prices have not yet been confirmed but it is anticipated they will be in the region of £50,000.
