Attractions At The Caravan And Motorhome Show Event City Exhibition

At the four day event will be Great Days Out who will be showcasing leading tourist attractions and providing inspirational new ideas for superb places to visit across the UK, with discounted ticket offers, exclusive to show visitors.

As well as caravan and motorhome exhibitiors there are already confirmed a host of exhibitors for 2019 including attractions to fill your next staycation holiday in the UK with.

The line up of exhibitors in addition to a huge number of motorhome and caravan dealers includes:

  • Bardsea Leisure
  • Bink Outdoor
  • Bowland Fell Park
  • Clifton Leisure Park Ltd
  • Costco Wholesale
  • Dogs Trust
  • Fir Trees Caravan Park
  • Guide Dogs
  • Holgates Caravan Parks
  • Lake District Estates
  • Lakeland Leisure Bikes

If you’re keen to try your hand at towing your caravan then you’re in luck.  This year Hyundai have teamed up with The Camping and Caravanning Club so that visitors can experience 15 minute taster sessions and learn how to professionally and safely tow and hitch up their caravans.

Those wishing to take part must be over 25 years old and also must have a full driving licence with them.  These taster sessions are called ‘The Towing Experience’ and you can book them at the event.

If you’re looking to build your confidence with manoeuvring your motorhome then again, at this year’s Caravan and Motorhome Show you’ll have experts on hand who can show you the ropes, or help you to improve your manoeuvring skills.

There will also be a host of celebrity and expert speakers and even some celebrities gracing the stage to share their experiences with the audience.  Last year’s celebrity and expert speakers included Monty Halls and Julia Bradbury, the president of the Caravan and Camping Club who talked about her latest TV show.  You can be sure this year’s speakers and celebrities will be equally as entertaining and interesting.

For the younger visitors there will be ‘My First Tow Experience’ where those aged between 3 and 10 years old will be able to hook up their vehicle and tow a caravan around the purpose built track at the event.

When hunger kicks in, show attendees can visit The Food and Travel Stage to watch live cookery demonstrations and recount tales from their many travelling adventures.

Over 300 exhibitors will be at the event. The show is being held at EventCity, Phoenix Way, Off Barton Dock Road, Manchester, M17 8AS. The show opens at 18th January 2018 and closes on 21st January 2018.

There will also be free entry for visitors to the co-located show which is next door; the Holiday and Travel Show.

There will be free car parking at the event, in the grounds of Manchester’s Event City.

There will be a free show guide available for attendees.

Post Show Review

We visited the show this January and below you’ll find some photos we took as well as a write up.

Highlights from 2019 – Caravan and motorhome show 2019 Day One: a round-up

The Great Outdoors, interesting recipes and a fusion of cultures come together in this year’s Caravan and Motorhome Show at Event City in Manchester.

Day One Roundup and Highlights

Day one saw James ‘Mountain Man’ Forrest on the Food and Travel stage with show regular and Emmerdale actor, Andrew Dickens. James, who is launching his book in May, shared his record breaking experiences of climbing every mountain in England and Wales in six months, amounting 1,000 miles and 446 peaks.

Impressively, James managed this all during days off from work, helping to achieve his ‘Mountain Man’ nickname from the Sunday Telegraph.  Also appearing at the show is Julia Bradbury who will be in conversation and cooking alongside Andrew. Julia is also appearing at our very own Grand Opening event on Monday 18th February when she will be telling us more about her love of the outdoors and what she is getting up to in 2019.

Outdoor recipes

If you are after some diverse outdoor camping recipes, then the show is offering quite a variety this year with potato pancakes with summer salsa and tikka sizzler chickpea dahl recipes and guides both on the menu.

Day one of the show featured Jamaican Jerk chicken wings with cucumber pickle, together with some cooking tips from expert cook, Andrew, who talked about rapeseed oil working as an alternative to olive oil, different kinds of woodchips used for smoking on a BBQ and creating more flavour in camping dishes with caramelising.

Bhagra dancers and Dhol Drummer featured as entertainment, continuing their performance on Friday along with journalist, photographer wildlife and conservation enthusiast, Dr. Emma Brennand.

The rest of the show is set to feature travel writer Pip Stewart and cyclist and author, Anna Hughes.
