Travelworld staff to take on skydiving challenge

Three daredevil members of staff from a leading motorhome dealership have agreed to take the plunge and raise much-needed funds for a mental health charity.

Cathy Hordern, Customer Care Manager, Beckii Protheroe, Senior Service Adviser, and HR Partner Yassemin Tilan – who all work at Erwin Hymer Centre Travelworld which is based in Stafford – will be taking part in a tandem skydive challenge on October 21 in aid of North Staffs Mind.

The trio have already raised more than £700 for the company’s nominated charity for 2023 via its JustGiving page and are hoping to bolster that amount by the time the jump, at Tilstock Freefall Skydiving Club in Whitchurch, Shropshire, takes place.

Cathy said: “North Staffs Mind does fantastic work across the area and we are keen to support it and one of the ways we thought we could do that was by signing up to the group skydiving challenge.

“We’re all really looking forward to it, even though we’re a bit nervous about jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet.

“It’s for a cause that helps thousands of people every year and we want to raise as much as we can to support it.”

North Staffs Mind started delivering its services in 1976, and since then its teams have supported children, young people and adults through counselling and other therapeutic activities.

The charity, which reaches about 10,000 people every year, also runs additional services and projects for local people, such as support groups, The Maccas Project, Speak Up Space, adult housing support, outreach in schools and mental health training.

Anyone wanting to support Cathy, Beckii and Yassemin can head over to their JustGiving page.

Travelworld, off junction 14 of the M6, has the largest array of premium German brand motorhomes in the UK market and is perfectly placed to meet the current unprecedented demand for Carado, Dethleffs, HYMER and Niesmann + Bischoff vehicles.
