Hymer motorhomes has received the three millionth Mercedes-Benz Sprinter fresh off the production line.
Mercedes-Benz Vans hit the production landmark 20 years after manufacturing began and has continued to grow in the camper van sector, last year celebrating a record sales increase of 4 % with further sales growth forecast.
Premium motorhome manufacturer, Hymer, is a key bodybuilder for the division and is an official ‘VanPartner by Mercedes-Benz’ which means it is audited and certified for meeting high quality standards.
The relationship between the two companies has existed for more than 40 years and the first Hymermobil was based on a Mercedes-Benz Van.
Bernard Kibler, Managing Director of Hymer said that the three millionth Sprinter will serve as the basic vehicle for the Hymer M-LT motorhome. He said that Mercedes-Benz Vans is an important strategic partner for the company, adding that the vans with the ‘star’ are considered to be the safest in their class and the Sprinter, in particular, offers an extensive range of safety equipment.
He said: “Combined with our bodybuilding technology and premium-class equipment and fittings, we can offer the customer a camper van that is uncompromising in its operating safety and living comfort. We are delighted that our longstanding partner is handing over the three millionth Sprinter to us.”
