The Museum of North Craven Life at The Folly

For people who are interested in history, the Museum of North Craven Life at the Folly in Settle is well worth a visit. The Folly is an impressive and striking 17th century house which is located in the heart of Settle. This is a very fine building and it is a Grade 1 listed building. This museum is home to permanent exhibits that tell the history of the area and the people who have lived in it.

Skipton Castle

Another attraction that is worth a visit is Skipton Castle. This castle is over nine hundred years old and it is one of the most well  preserved medieval castles in England. A visit to this castle will allow you to explore the rich history of this building which was involved in a three year siege during the Civil War. This castle provides an interesting day out for people of all ages.

Forbidden Corner is home to a warren of labyrinths, passageways, follies and secret doors. There are a number of underground tunnels and chambers which shrink down to small doorways which adults need to crawl through and there is a number of statues that are waiting to spring surprises on the unwary. This attraction can only allow limited numbers at a time, therefore it is advisable to book your visit beforehand.

Hesketh Farm Park

Hesketh Farm Park is a fun day out for people of all ages. This attraction is actually a working farm which is home to more than one thousand cattle and sheep and a visit at the correct time of year you may even be able to see a lamb being born or experience a ride on a tractor and trailer. This farm attraction will enable you to see what actually happens on a farm in the Yorkshire Dales.
