The Great Outdoors
The Great Outdoors, interesting recipes and a fusion of cultures come together in this year’s Caravan and Motorhome Show at Event City in Manchester.
Day one roundup
Day one saw James ‘Mountain Man’ Forrest on the Food and Travel stage with show regular and Emmerdale actor, Andrew Dickens. James, who is launching his book in May, shared his record breaking experiences of climbing every mountain in England and Wales in six months, amounting 1,000 miles and 446 peaks.
Impressively, James managed this all during days off from work, helping to achieve his ‘Mountain Man’ nickname from the Sunday Telegraph.
Also appearing at the show is Julia Bradbury who will be in conversation and cooking alongside Andrew.
Julia is also appearing at our very own Grand Opening event on Monday 18th February when she will be telling us more about her love of the outdoors and what she is getting up to in 2019.
If you are after some diverse outdoor camping recipes, then the show is offering quite a variety this year with potato pancakes with summer salsa and tikka
sizzler chickpea dahl recipes and guides both on the menu.
Day one of the show featured Jamaican Jerk chicken wings with cucumber pickle, together with some cooking tips from expert cook, Andrew, who talked about rapeseed oil working as an alternative to olive oil, different kinds of woodchips used for smoking on a BBQ and creating more flavour in camping dishes with caramelising.
Bhagra dancers and Dhol Drummer featured as entertainment, continuing their performance on Friday along with journalist, photographer wildlife and conservation enthusiast, Dr. Emma Brennand.
The rest of the show is set to feature travel writer Pip Stewart and cyclist and author, Anna Hughes.
