  • Go Ape Buxton is very close to Buxton town itself but is one of the highest Go Ape centres as it sits next to a 2 million year old limestone cave. Here, you can swing through the trees on an exhilarating and fun filled zip wire adventure.
  • The Heights of Abraham are best viewed by cable car. Along the way, there are play areas for children and picnic grounds, you can also see the two show caverns.
  • The Chestnut Centre is a conservation park set in the Peak District. It is a great day out for all the family where visitors can see 17 different owl species; a South American Giant Otter as well as species of wildcats, pinemartins and other birds.
  • Pavillion Gardens, Buxton is made up of 23 acres of beautiful gardens and is a popular tourist attraction in the area. There is a Tourist Information Centre inside the grounds as well as a Coffee Bar where you can go for a hot drink and a light snack.

Facilities on the site include: toilets and showers with under floor heating, laundry services, internet access, electric hook ups and disabled facilities. Within a mile’s distance there are shops, restaurants and local transport links.

Attractions close to the site include: Chatsworth House, High Peak Trail, Buxton Opera House, Matlock Farm and Dovedale.

Conkers Camping and Caravanning Club Site, 50 Bath Lane, Moira, Swadlincote, Derbyshire, DE12 6BD.

This site is open all year round and is set in the National Forest. It has electric hook ups, hard standing pitches, gas refills, internet access, laundry facilities and a shower and toilet block. Dogs are also permitted on this site. Within five miles there are bars and restaurants available.

Newhaven Caravan and Camping Park, Newhaven. Buxton, Derbyshire, SK17 0DT. This site has hard standing pitches and electric hook ups. Dogs are permitted and there is a shower and toilet block, laundry facilities, a children’s play area, a shop and a games room.

Within a mile there are bars and restaurants and within five miles there are horse riding activities available as well as cycling and boating. Further afield there are gold courses also.

Nearby attractions include: potholing and caving activities; walking on the Tissington and High Peak trails and Gullivers Kingdom amusement park at Matlock Bath. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are also within an easy distance.
